There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.

WHAT IS PSYCHOTHERAPY?

Psychotherapy is a collaborative process between the client and counsellor. More commonly called 'talk therapy' , psychotherapy gives you a space where you can freely and unapologetically explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, with the help of a trained therapist.

The therapist's role is to help facilitate change and growth by inviting dialogue and collaboration to wholly honour your beliefs. Together, we address the personal impact of deeper systemic inequities and social  injustices, work with you as you are in the moment, understand how you perceive yourself, and also explore your past experiences, environments, and relationships. Through this, patterns, fantasies, and unconscious motivations emerge, giving you better clarity to understand yourself and begin your journey into the realms of liberation and catharsis. Starting therapy can be an overwhelming process, but acknowledging, accepting, and getting help for your emotional turbulence is the first step to personal growth and healing.

Do I Really Need THERAPY?

How Will I BENEFIT?

A common misconception is that something needs to be wrong, or you need to be 'weak', 'broken', at your 'worst', or deeply struggling in order to reach out for help. Rather, therapy is a space for you to look at the tapestry of your life, and meet and reconnect with yourself - all the parts of yourself and your emotional landscape. This can include the thoughts you don't really understand, the pieces that frighten or hurt you, the patterns you can't seem to break, the self-narratives that confuse you, and the shadow parts that may seem intolerable and unlovable - all fragments that can otherwise be hard to face and own. It is through counselling that you get the opportunity and freedom to try.

Therapy doesn't merely alleviate your psychological distress - it brings to light and helps deconstruct the the self-destructive and self-sabotaging patterns that hinder you from truly reaching your full capabilities. Regardless of who you are, if you want to get to know yourself better and empower yourself, therapy can probably help you explore and reach your full potential for personal change or growth.
