Psychotherapy

​I especially enjoy teaching psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy to early-career counselors, encouraging them to develop a lifelong commitment to deeper thinking and critical evaluation. My approach to this work is intentionally decolonial, as I aim to challenge previously unquestioned epistemologies that often serve as the unexamined foundation of dominant psychological discourse. Drawing from my research and mentoring experiencing, and my deep resonance with the educational philosophy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, I understand that true educational equity requires dismantling systemic barriers within our own curricula. To this end, I employ inventive teaching strategies, such as those grounded in psychodrama and Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed, to prepare students to become socially responsible, reflective clinicians who can address the complex needs of their clients and catalyze change.
